The 2nd training within STEP
Train today the organisations that will host tomorrow's deployments in Latin America!
From 21st to 25th February, in Lima, Peru, ADICE and Movimiento por la Paz – MPDL continued capacity building trainings for host organisations with our Peruvian (Mano a Mano), Ecuadorian (Municipio de Riobamba), Uruguayan (El Abrojo) and Colombian (FMPDL) partners in the framework of the STEP project
After having carried out a needs assessment and a safety plan during the first trainings last October, mission statements emerged from the host organisation’s work. During this week the aim was to implement common logistics in the management of youth volunteering through training on the volunteer management cycle, with a particular focus on mentoring. We were able to develop quality tools for a better management of volunteering and mentoring through the guide and video on mentoring, the creation of info pack by organisation and the preparation of testimonial videos.

This training in Peru was an opportunity to see the work of our peruvian partner Mano a Mano on site, in particular that of the women builders, the library for the inhabitants of Los Jazmines, useful holidays for the young people of the community as well as the creation and maintenance of public gardens. This organisation implements health prevention, education and awareness-raising actions for sustainable development.
The deployment of two volunteers to each Latin American organisation from June, for a period of six months.
