Study: Mental Health Needs

MINDSanté MentaleStudyVET

As part of the Erasmus+ MIND project, a study was conducted in five countries to better understand the mental health needs of learners and professionals in Vocational Education and Training (VET), particularly in the context of international mobility.

Available in six languages, the study highlights barriers to integrating mental health practices, such as stigma and lack of resources, and offers tailored solutions.

Key Topics Covered in the Study

The study focuses on several critical aspects of mental health in VET:

  • Perception of Mental Health: How do professionals and learners perceive mental health and its impact on their daily lives?
  • Stress Factors in VET: What are the main factors affecting the mental well-being of learners and professionals, particularly during mobility periods?
  • The Role of VET Professionals: What support can they provide to learners, and what resources do they need to better assist them?
  • Current Practices and Gaps in Support: The study sheds light on existing practices and identifies areas for improvement to better integrate mental health into educational projects.

The MIND study provides concrete insights into the challenges of mental health in VET and its role in learners’ success. It offers recommendations based on data collected across Europe, along with practical ideas to enhance learner support and embed mental well-being into training programmes.
