The first trainings of the STEP project

NewsCooperation 22 October 2021

Train today the organisations that will host tomorrow's deployments in Latin America!

From 19 to 21 October, ADICE and Movimiento por la Paz – MPDL started capacity building trainings for host organisations with our Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Uruguayan and Colombian partners in the STEP project.

After a presentation of each organisation for a better knowledge and cohesion, and after the presentation of the objectives and expectations of the training, we worked together on :

  • the need analysis for each host organisation and how some of these needs can be met by hosting a European volunteer with the definition of their profile and the mission
  • then, on the risk both identification and analysis, the creation or improvement of a safety management plan, etc

Each partner has produced their own tools on each theme, once back in their country and with their respective teams. We will meet again in videoconference to finalise these tools, to continue sharing our good practices, our doubts and to plan the next STEP actions.

Next steps?
A 2nd training session in February in Peru on the development of tools and quality methods for youth volunteer management and mentoring in third countries with the production and dissemination of a guide and educational videos on mentoring and volunteer management.

Then, the recruitment and deployment of volunteers in June 2022!
