Stronger Together: Empowering Youth Organisations for Lasting Impact is an Erasmus+ capacity-building project in the youth sector. It aims to support youth organisations in the Eastern Neighbourhood (Armenia, Moldova) by providing them with practical tools, educational methods and resources to develop projects that are more inclusive, digital, sustainable and high-impact.

The project is based on non-formal education, peer learning and the development of professional skills tailored to the contemporary challenges faced by young people and the organisations supporting them.

Context

The project is set against a backdrop of significant structural challenges for youth organisations in the Eastern Neighbourhood countries, particularly in Armenia and Moldova.

These organisations play a vital role in supporting young people, but operate in a complex environment characterised by:

  • High youth unemployment and precarious career paths;
  • Limited access to quality educational opportunities;
  • Still low levels of civic participation;
  • An increase in issues related to young people’s mental health and well-being.

In this context, youth organisations are active and committed, but they often lack structured resources, suitable educational tools and specialised training to enhance their impact.

Furthermore, rapid digital transformations, digital-related environmental issues and current democratic challenges require professional practices to adapt.

In light of these findings, the project was designed to address needs identified directly with local organisations through a preliminary analysis. The training content and activities have therefore been specifically developed to provide concrete solutions tailored to the realities on the ground.

Objectives

The main objective of the project is to strengthen the capacities of youth organisations in order to improve the quality of support offered to young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities. More specifically, ADICE and its partners will seek to:

  • Strengthen the capacities of youth professionals to support the mental health and well-being of young people by providing them with practical tools and intervention strategies.
  • Equip youth workers with digital skills and tools to promote young people’s employability and career development in a constantly evolving digital economy.
  • Promote environmentally friendly digital practices among youth workers and young people by raising awareness of the carbon footprint of digital technologies and encouraging green IT strategies.
  • Strengthen organisations’ capacity for sustainable management to provide tailored and inclusive support to young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities
  • Strengthen young people’s role in democratic participation and civic engagement by equipping youth workers with tools to promote active citizenship, leadership and critical thinking.
  • Advocate for the recognition and validation of skills acquired through non-formal education via certifications (e.g., Youthpass, to bridge the gap between formal education and the labour market).
  • Ensure the transfer, adaptation and sustainability of training materials and methodologies through local follow-up sessions led by trained professionals
  • Promote the dissemination of good practices by sharing the project’s results at local, national and international levels, as well as during the final event.

Outputs

Through the Stronger Together project, the project partners hope to:

  • Provide more inclusive and high-quality support
  • Address current social, digital and environmental challenges
  • Better support young people in vulnerable situations

To achieve this, several activities will be implemented:

  • 4 international training courses for professionals
  • A handbook compiling best practices from the 4 countries.
  • Collaborative workshops for young people
  • Local follow-up sessions with young people

Public and beneficiaries

The project works primarily with:

  • youth workers and trainers
  • staff of youth organisations and NGOs.

Young people benefit indirectly, through:

  • Improved local activities,
  • Better adapted support,
  • Follow-up training delivered by trained professionals.
