Social Media Manager (en anglais)
VIN is a not-for-profit NGO based in Kathmandu, working in rural communities of Nepal, deploying local and international volunteers.
VIN emphasises four pillars of development:
- Education
- Health and Environment
- Economy
- Basic Infrastructure
Based on these four pillars, VIN empowers marginalised communities through six programmes – Children’s Development, Women’s Empowerment, Public Health and Medical Care, Youth Empowerment, Environment Conservation and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
The involvement of volunteers is a key strategy in delivering these programmes, and VIN mobilises national and international volunteers in development and humanitarian projects. Its projects are highly inclusive – beneficiaries from the target population are involved in the project implementation process regardless of class, caste, religion, background, gender and disability.
Missions principales
The tasks assigned to the volunteer:
Social media managers establish VIN’s online presence and organization value by promoting our projects, services and activities through videos, photos, infographics or text posts on social media platforms. Specifically S/he will be –
- Planning and developing social media campaigns;
- Crafting compelling content or getting it developed;
- Posting content across social media accounts;
- Analyzing running campaigns;
- Analyze customer expectations according to past social media activity;
- Define Key performace indicators and Key results for social media campaigns;
- Update social media content across all channels;
- Engage with customers and followers;
- Use social media marketing tools e.g. buffer, Tailwind, Business Suit;
- Monitor campaigns and analyzes data obtained;
- Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics;
- Establish relationships with social media influencers to develop a strong network;
- Develop content or get it done by content developers;
- Keep an eye on social media trends;
- Communicate effectively to all stakeholders including senior management and content developers;
- Edit photos, videos provided by VIN management;

Skills and/or experience required of the volunteer:
The skills and experience required from volunteers:
- Experience as a social media manager or a similar role for at least a year.
- Experience in creating social media strategies
- Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Craft engaging content
- Organized and able to multitask
- Video and photo editing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, internet marketing or related field
- Prior experience as a copywriter
- Prior experience as a content manager

Condition
Working conditions (hours):
The working time is set at approximately 12 hours per week (flexible according to the volunteer’s planning): the working hours can be divided as follows: 9 hours for the mission activities and 3 hours per week will be devoted to exchanges to review the mission.
